I have always wanted to say that I’m an award-winning author.

Well, today I’m one step closer to that goal. I just found out that Gift of the Shaper was chosen as one of the finalists in the 2018 Best Book Awards for Fantasy!

I screamed a manly scream out loud, then continued screaming mentally for about five minutes before letting my publisher know that we could include a cool little seal with the ebook when it launches.

I didn’t write Gift of the Shaper in order to win awards — but having the validation of someone else reading it and saying “Wow, this is a really great book,” feels AMAZING. Being an award-winning writer doesn’t come easy, and being a successful writer is even harder. I hope that one day I can say I’m both.

For now, I’m just a guy with a ton of motivation, and a hell of a lot of hopes and dreams.
